Situated in the scenic heart of the Paarl Valley, below the majestic Paarl Mountains lies the Laborie Wine Estate. As one of the oldest French Huguenot Wine Farms still in operation, the heritage of the Laborie Estate dates back to 1691.
The Laborie Manor House, built in 1750, is described in the standard work of Hans Franzen as the “most important house in the architectural sense in the Paarl area”. The house is furnished with antiques to recreate the elegant atmosphere of the 18th and 19th centuries and showcases artwork from well-known South African artists.
Laborie’s wines, Rich in taste and of finest quality are available to taste and purchase in the Laborie Tasting Room. It is an intimate tasting room where a cosy fire welcomes you in winter or you can take in the views from the balcony in summer. During the warm summer months we offer picnics, cheese platter as well as olive and wine pairings.
The Laborie Wine Estate has 8 Guest Rooms on offer, all overlooking the Manor House Garden and Drakenstein Mountains. All the rooms are furnished in a Cape French style and decorated with the characteristics of our wines in mind.
Laborie Restaurant is one of the precious jewels in the Cape winelands. A vist to the Restaurant allows diners to reminisce about the Cape as it once was hundreds of years ago. The spacious, stylish restaurant and terrace, secluded by vineyards and shaded by ancient oak trees, offers a relaxed atmosphere and provides an informal and relaxed dining experience
The Laborie Wine Estate offers an intimate conference venue for small conferences in our Historical Cellar, one of the oldest cellars in existence. With its cool, thick walls it exudes the charm and ambience of a bygone age. The first wine was made here in 1698.
The Laborie Wine Estate is the perfect Romantic setting for an unforgettable Wedding. The garden or historical cellar can be converted to a small chapel for the ceremony and our guest rooms offer accommodation for the bride and groom and wedding guests.
